Meet the Kohane Lab’s Summer Interns! (Part 1)

The Kohane Lab has welcomed our first half of summer interns!

Bryan Bai: Bryan is returning for his second internship! He just graduated from Bedford High School and will be attending Rutgers University this fall. His research interests include chemistry and its’ uses in the synthesis of molecules. In his free time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, rock climbing, and going to the gym.

Maelys Guerouaz: Maelys is a third-year student at ESPCI Paris and is very interested in nanomaterials for drug delivery at the interface of physics and chemistry. In her free time, she likes to go to the gym, sew, listen to music and hang out with friends.

Varun Shah: Varun is pursuing a B.S. in biomedical engineering with a technology innovation concentration from Boston University. His research interests include novel drug delivery mechanisms, vascular bioengineering, and regenerative medicine. In his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, building Lego batman sets, and cooking.

Eric Reubens: Eric is entering his final year at Tufts University this fall as a biology major with a minor in chemistry. His research interests include drug delivery, delivering ophthalmic medications, and projects on systems that deliver chemotherapeutics and local anesthetics. In his free time, he is the president of the Tufts Doctors Without Borders student club. He also plays the violin, piano, and sports such as tennis and squash. Other hobbies are sunbathing and nature walks.
