Meet the Kohane Lab’s Summer Interns! (Part 2)

The Kohane Lab has welcomed our second half of summer interns!

Janessa Altenor: Janessa is returning for her third internship! She is currently a rising sophomore at the University of Massachusetts Amherst majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Her research interests include drug delivery, especially with nanoparticles, as well as biomedical devices. Outside of work and academics, she dances for Hazel Jinx Collective and the Cayena dance team. If she’s not dancing, she loves listening to music and binge-watching movies.

Hannah Cinea: Hannah is returning for her third internship! Hannah is a rising sophomore, transferring into Cornell University’s Biological Engineering program this fall. Her research interests include cancer drug therapies, drug resistance, and the evolution of tumors. When she’s not in the lab, she enjoys painting, drawing, reading, and recently started learning to knit.

Bryan Bai: Bryan is returning for his third internship! Bryan is a rising sophomore at Rutgers University majoring in Cell Biology and Neuroscience as well as Chemistry. His research interests include chemical synthesis and anesthesia, as well as understanding more about the effects that molecular structure can have on drug delivery. When he’s not in the lab, he enjoys playing the piano, ice hockey, climbing, baking, and going to the gym.

Nuha Salam: Nuha is a rising senior at Shrewsbury High School. Her research interests include drug delivery and neuroscience. In her free time, she enjoys ice skating, spending time with friends and family, and baking.
