On July 4th, Niancao and his wife celebrated the birth of their baby boy, Jeffrey! He was delivered at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, weighing 7.2 lbs. Congrats Niancao! 

On June 30th, Dan and family had dinner with lab alum Doris Gabriel at the Creux de Genthod on Lake Geneva, where there is a stunning panorama of the lake (not shown) and beyond it the Salève mountain and the Alps.

In Madrid, Dan met up with lab alumni Miguel Manzano and Juan Paris for refreshments at the Azotea del Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Congratulations to Rong on her promotion to instructor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School!

The Kohane team got together for a lunch at Bertucci’s to celebrate Brian McAlvin’s promotion from Instructor to Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. Congrats Brian!  

Brian Timko and Todd Hoare were Chairs of a session focused on Externally-addressable Smart Biomaterials, at which Dan gave the keynote address. Also, Dan ran into Chris Highley (picture), a prior technician in the Kohane Lab, who is now a post-doc at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Bioengineering.

Many congratulations to Dr. Rong Yang & Dr. Ciolino for winning the 1st & 2nd place in the poster competition respectively at the 2016 Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation Day!!

On the morning of Saturday, April 30th, Alan Woodruff’s baby, Lucy Woodruff was born.  She was 8 lbs, 8 oz and arrived at 11:04am.  Everyone is happy and healthy.  Congratulations Alan!

On Thursday, April 14th, Dan was invited to receive a specially selected gift from the Critical Care Fellows in celebration of his “Teacher of The Year” award the previous year.  During the celebration, Dan gave some sage advice!
