10th World Biomaterials Congress – WBC 2016

Brian Timko and Todd Hoare were Chairs of a session focused on Externally-addressable Smart Biomaterials, at which Dan gave the keynote address. Also, Dan ran into Chris Highley (picture), a prior technician in the Kohane Lab, who is now a post-doc at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Bioengineering.

Lucy Woodruff is Born

On the morning of Saturday, April 30th, Alan Woodruff’s baby, Lucy Woodruff was born.  She was 8 lbs, 8 oz and arrived at 11:04am.  Everyone is happy and healthy.  Congratulations Alan!

Exotic Gift Finally Arrives

On Thursday, April 14th, Dan was invited to receive a specially selected gift from the Critical Care Fellows in celebration of his “Teacher of The Year” award the previous year.  During the celebration, Dan gave some sage advice!

Julia’s Promotion Lunch

Dan, Brian Timko and Brian McAlvin win the MIT Sloan Healthcare Innovations Prize

On February 25th, Brian Timko, Brian McAlvin and Dan won the first-ever $25,000 MIT Sloan Healthcare Innovations Prize! Together, they developed technologies to treat and monitor sepsis, which is the leading cause of death among critically-ill patients.
