Meet the Kohane Lab’s Summer Interns! (Part 2)

The Kohane Lab has welcomed our second half of summer interns!

Jackson Dickie: Jackson is a rising junior at Weston High School. His research interest is in the uses and applications of nanomedicine. In his free time, he enjoys cooking as well as playing the trumpet and piano.

Hannah Cinea: Hannah is going into her senior year at Boston Latin Academy. Her research interests include cancer cell biology, the mechanism of anti-tumor immune responses, and drug delivery. In her spare time she enjoys making paintings using different mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, and gouache.

Janessa Altenor: Janessa is also a rising senior at the Boston Latin Academy. Her research interests are focused on cell biology and the use of antibiotics/vaccines against pathogens. When she’s not working or studying, she loves to dance! She is currently the captain of her school’s step dance team and has been dancing since she was 6 years old. Her additional hobbies include sketching, painting and nail art.

Bryan Bai: Bryan is going into his senior year at Bedford High School. His research interest is primarily in the drug delivery of anesthesia. During his free time, he plays ice hockey, clarinet and enjoys cooking.

Amiri Sulker: Amiri is returning to the Kohane Lab for a second internship! He attended the Boston Latin Academy for high school and just completed his first year at the University of Massachusetts, where he is studying chemical engineering. His research interest is in testing nanoparticles to improve the effectiveness of delivery into different parts of the body. His main hobbies are swimming, sailing and photography.

Julia Dacayanan: Julia is a rising senior at Bedford High School. Her research interest is in the usage of multilamellar liposomes in local anesthetics. During her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, casual hiking, listening to music and singing.
