Meet the Kohane Lab’s Summer Interns! (Part 2)

The Kohane Lab has welcomed our second half of summer interns!

Zoe Xiao: Zoe is a rising junior at the Emma Willard School. Her research interests are focused on molecular biology in anesthesia. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, gardening, playing piano, and hiking.

Hannah Cinea: Hannah is returning for her second internship! She will be attending Northeastern University in the fall to study bioengineering. Her research interests include studying cancer cell biology and cell and tissue engineering. In her free time, she enjoys painting portraits using acrylics as her medium.

Florie Donna: Florie is a rising senior at Boston Latin Academy. Her research interests are concentrated on the use of nanoparticles to treat tumors. Outside of the classroom and lab, her main hobbies include listening to music and journaling.

Julia Dacayanan: Julia just graduated from Bedford High School and is a rising freshman at the Rutgers Honors College, majoring in microbiology. Her current research interests include the usage of multilamellar liposomes in local anesthetics. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, casual hiking, and ceramics!

Janessa Altenor: Janessa is returning for her second internship! She just graduated from Boston Latin Academy and will be attending the UMass Honors College this fall to major in biomedical engineering. Her current research interests involve cell work and medical improvements for the human body. Janessa has been a dancer for 12 years and loves to listen to music while crafting, as well as hanging out with friends and trying new foods in her free time.
