On the early morning of February 23rd, Hunghao Chu’s daughter was born. Evelyn Chu was born weighing 7 pounds and 8 ounces and 20 inches in length.
On Tuesday, Feb. 19th, the Kohane group gathered to celebrate the recent promotions of Dr. Christopher Weldon and Dr. Joseph Ciolino to Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. During dinner, Dan gave a speech congratulating the two on their recent career advancements.
At 7:16pm on February 13th, Tzahi’s first born daughter, Shalev, was born. More exciting than gold-silk nanofibers. Congratulations!

On the evening of January 28th, the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine hosted a reception to celebrate Dan’s promotion to Professor of Anaesthesia. Friends, family and colleagues gathered to congratulate Dan at the Inn at Longwood Medical. Dinner and drinks were enjoyed by all.
On January 14th, the new Kohane lab website was published. The updated website includes a new assortment of pictures, up-to-date research and an entirely different layout. A special thanks to the website committee for devoting their time and effort to getting the new website up and running.
We have an ongoing project to develop contact lenses that elute drugs for days to weeks, improving drug delivery and mitigating the problems associated with patient compliance. Other projects relate to drug delivery to the back of the eye using nanoparticles, hydrogels, and drug conjugates. Read More …
