On Monday, June 15th, Dan traveled to Philadelphia to be present at the formal announcement of the licensing to Grunenthal of the neosaxitoxin-based local anesthetic that Charles Berde and he have developed along with Proteus, a Chilean biotech company.

On Friday, June 5th, Dan was awarded “Fellow Teacher of the Year” at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine.  The award was presented to him at the Annual Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow’s Graduation Dinner at the Harvard Club in Boston.  Congratulations!

On Friday, May 29th Dan presented as a keynote speaker at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Canadian Biomaterials Society.  The meeting was held from May 27th to May 30th in Toronto, Ontario.  The conference featured the latest biomaterials research from across Canada and around the world.
