On April 27th, Dr. Yang was promoted to Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. Congratulations!
On Monday, April 10th Alina successfully defended her thesis titled “Repeatable and adjustable on-demand local anesthesia using externally triggered liposomes” at MIT! The work was co-advised by Dan and Professor Bob Langer at MIT. Amazing work. Congrats, Alina!
On Friday, April 7th Dan gave a Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C. He was invited by The American Institutes for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) to give a presentation on Using Nanotechnology to Target Disease. During his visit, Dan met with David Bond in Congresswoman Clark’s office, Suzannah Savage in Senator Warren’s office, and Senator Markey’s office.

Alina’s talk was recognized as the “Best Presentation” of the Biomaterials and Drug Delivery I session in the 2016 Annual AIChE Meeting in San Francisco last November. Congratulations Alina!
Rong Yang, PhD, instructor in Anesthesiology, has been awarded the Charles H. Hood Foundation grant to continue her research on otitis media. The grant will allow Dr. Yang to develop nanoparticles to treat middle ear infections without the need for antibiotics.
